As Spring approaches each year so do restaurants and their seasonal seafood specials (trying saying that with a mouthful of shrimp!). The reasons for eating fish on Fridays and during lent go back quite some time; skip forward to today though, for many of us, it means a range of menu updates focused on fish sandwiches and other seafood specials.

El Pollo Loco
If you’re not feeling like a fish sandwich, check out El Pollo Loco’s Baja Shrimp Tacos – back for 2021. The shrimp are marinated in a blend of garlic and chipotle to put a little kick in your lent. Read more here.

Nope, didn’t read that wrong – even the wing-obsessed BWW are offering an all new fish sandwich this year; theirs, an Icelandic Haddock finished with a beer batter and side of slaw. See more here.

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s
Whether you live on the West coast or East coast – you can grab this sandwich for the season. Both Carl’s and Hardee’s are offering this seasonal Alaskan pollock based sandwich special for the seasons. Read more here.

Jack In The Box
Panko crusted pollock is the basis of this duo of fish sandwiches from JITB. The brand relies on Alaskan sourced fish which always gets our thumbs up – the state is committed to 100% sustainable wild fishing only. Read more on the sandwiches here.
The quirkily named Bojangler is Bojangles option for seafood fans. The sandwich first released in 2020 made its comeback in 2021. See more here.
