Chipotle’s new digital-only Quesadilla

Chipotle new Hand-Crafted Quesadilla

Here’s a new one, at least we haven’t heard of many others (anyone?) doing this any time recently. Chipotle today took the wraps off an all new customizable Quesadilla entree – with one huge caveat – you can only order this menu item digitally.

In fact the Quesadilla is unique in more than one way, it also happens to be the first customizable entree that Chipotle have offered in 17 years! The Quesadilla launches March 11th nationwide and to mark the new offering, the brand are rolling out free deliver through the Chipotle app and website through March 21st.

As for the dish itself, the brand write that the Quesadilla “is filled with Monterey Jack Cheese and freshly prepared with Responsibly-Raised® Chicken, Steak, Carnitas, Barbacoa, Sofritas, or Fajita Veggies. The preservative-free flour tortilla is folded and pressed using a new custom oven in Chipotle’s Digital Kitchen, which melts the cheese perfectly and enables restaurants to make Quesadillas more quickly and conveniently. The menu item is cut into triangular pieces and served in 100% compostable packaging that allows guests to pick three salsas or sides, including fresh tomato salsa, sour cream, or hand-mashed guac for a little extra.”

Remember – just don’t turn up in your local Chipotle and expect to walk away with one – this is digital only.
